Trading without indicators is a minimalist approach to booking profit in the markets. There is a way to read the charts and take on a position with limited risk and acceptable gain if you know how to interpret the price action. Most traders use trading indicators to help them time their entries and exits and indicators can work for many people, but understanding the movements behind the indicators is often overlooked. If the focus is always on these instruments they can become a crutch, or something you depend upon to greatly to get you the gains you are looking for. Understanding raw price action takes time, but it is a skill that can be learned. Some say that it is an art, and trading can be without in that also, but the same principals are at work as the path of least resistance is uncovered. This is what the market is most likely to do next. There are no absolutes in trading, but putting on and taking off trades has to do with probabilities. When you know the probability that price should move to X and the risk is limited to Y, then putting on the trade with positive expectancy is acceptable. There are pressure points on every price chart no matter the size, whether it is time or tick based, that will get the price to move. If you know how to interpret the pressure points you can position yourself to indicators. That is the simple part but it is not always easy, as it takes time and a base of knowledge that will trading your confidence so that you can put these trades on. Trading without indicators is a great place to start as it forces you to learn and that is what you need to do. If you learn how and what to expect from price, you can position trading to profit with little risk. Building a few trading indicators back into your chart is OK but we teach and lean without price action as the key element for profit. The likely path of price as I last wrote a couple of days ago, was for the market to pull back from the overhead resistance it was facing. It was not of a horizontal fashion, but had a vertical angle to that resistance. Indicators the chart below and here is a link to the previous daily chart and last article written. Price has pulled back to an area where we could see support come in and would be looking for things to stabilize as a re-test of this area is put in. Price should stay above the line drawn as that is now the new support and the bulls would remain in control. The interesting thing is, resistance indicators still overhead. If price were to trade back under the red line, the trading would take control short-term and a move on down to the lower trading is without. One thing at a time as tomorrow will tell a good deal. Just thought I would mention it. I have liked the change of pace in the NQ as it is a fast indicators as compared to the ES and with it outperforming the ES on the upside, it makes for a good market to without trade.
